Assemblymember Ash Kalra Celebrates AB 1400 CalCare Passage by Assembly Health Committee

SACRAMENTO –Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) released the following statement after AB 1400, California Guaranteed Health Care for All Act (CalCare), passed out of the Assembly Health Committee today:

“A momentous occasion—CalCare has passed its first policy committee! With a resounding vote, AB 1400 now makes its way to the fiscal committee. Many thanks to the California Nurses Association, Assembly Health Committee Chair Jim Wood, and all those throughout our state that have voiced support. As the single-payer movement continues to gain momentum, we signal to corporate interests that enough is enough; healthcare is a human right and it’s high time we reform our broken healthcare system.”
