For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) has been newly appointed by Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) to serve on the Committee on Housing and Community Development and the Committee on Transportation for the 2021-22 Legislative Session. Kalra has also been re-appointed as Chair of the Committee on Labor and Employment.

“In San José, the housing crisis has been felt as severely as anywhere else in the state. Similarly, the transportation needs here in Silicon Valley are of critical importance. I am grateful for Speaker Rendon’s confidence in my ability to address these two critical issues of major importance to my constituents and all Californians,” Assemblymember Kalra said. “In a year marked by many ongoing challenges, I will continue to work hard to ensure the voices of working families in San Jose and across our great state are heard at the Capitol. I look forward to working with my colleagues on these committees to pass vital policies for Californians and my constituents, including access to equitable housing, and the future of transportation.”

Assemblymember Kalra remains a member of the Committee on Judiciary and the Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife.
