SACRAMENTO–Today, AB 256, the Racial Justice Act for All, passed its final hurdle in the Legislature and will be sent to Governor Newsom.
SACRAMENTO – Yesterday, AB 2167, authored by Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) passed the California Legislature and will be sent to Governor Newsom. AB 2167 would require courts presiding over a criminal matter to consider alternatives to incarceration which includes, but is not limited to, diversion programs, restorative justice, and probation.
SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San José) presented San José Mayor Sam Liccardo and other City officials with a commemorative check of $10 million to support the City of San José’s Vision Zero strategy, a traffic safety initiative to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on roadways.
