Opinion: Women should know what’s in these products

One of the hardest things to do as a doctor is say, “I don’t know.” It’s especially gut-wrenching when the patient across from you is distraught and bleeding heavily from her third miscarriage. For women like this patient – who suffer multiple miscarriages, go into preterm labor, or break their bags of water long before their due date – the question of “why” is haunting.

Licensed Peace Officer Bill Authored by Assemblymember Ash Kalra

SACRAMENTO – AB 1440, a bill authored by Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) clarifying that federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Officers are not licensed peace officers under California State Law, was signed by the Governor.

Assemblymember Ash Kalra to Host Paws for a Cause Adoption Event, Sponsor Free Pet Adoptions

SAN JOSE – Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) will hold a press conference tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the San Jose Animal Care Center on 2750 Monterey Road to kick off “Paws for a Cause,” a two-week pet adoption drive with zero adoption fees.

Beginning July 22 through August 6, pet adoption fees will be waived for all adult cats (4 months and older) and dogs (6 months and older).

Budget Conference Committee Approves $5.4 Million Budget Request by Assemblymember Ash Kalra for San Jose Flood Recovery

SACRAMENTO – The Budget Conference Committee approved a request by Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) to appropriate $5.4 million for case management and home repairs to help in the recovery from the flooding in San Jose.

Assemblymember Kalra presented the request before the Assembly Budget Committee last month on behalf of members of San Jose’s legislative delegation.
