Monday, May 15, 2017

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Kansen Chu (D-Sa Jose) joined his colleagues in the State Assembly as they passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution 81 declaring May as Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. California is home to over 5.8 million Asian and Pacific Islander Americans, more than any other state and is one of the fastest growing ethnic populations in the state and the nation. “Asian and Pacific Islander Americans have endured hardships, including unjust working conditions, prejudice, and discrimination,” said Assemblymember Chu. “Yet they continue to advance, and lead in the fields of art, fashion, business, technology, education, science, medicine, sports, and entertainment.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
