Assemblymember Chu Honors Santa Clara's Own John "Jack" T Moore as AD25's Veteran of the Year
(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Assemblymember Kansen Chu (D - Milpitas) honored United States Marine John “Jack” T. Moore as his Veteran of the Year for the 25th Assembly District at a special luncheon organized by the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Veterans Affairs, Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, and Vice-Chair, Assemblymember Rocky Chavez.
“I am privileged to have this opportunity to honor Jack Moore today in Sacramento as the 25th Assembly District’s Veteran of the Year,” says Assemblymember Chu. “Jack made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. He fought bravely to protect and defend our shared principles and values. He is the absolute true embodiment of integrity and character and I am grateful to be honoring him as Veteran of the Year.”
As a proud veteran of the United States Marines, Jack Moore served in the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. He is a longtime resident of the City of Santa Clara and a retired brick mason. Jack has been married to his wife Mary Moore for 66 years and together have six children, 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Kansen Chu represents the 25th District in the California State Assembly, which encompasses the cities of Santa Clara, Milpitas, Newark and portions of Fremont and San Jose.
