Dear Friend,

I’m pleased to invite you to my upcoming Walk & Talk event with the East Bay Regional Park District at Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area (2100 Isherwood Way, Fremont, CA 94536) on Saturday, September 3 from 9 – 11 a.m.

Walk and Talk

Dear Friend,

July is Park and Recreation Month! I was happy to cut the ribbon and celebrate the reopening of the California Nursery Historical Park in Fremont. The 20-acre park tells the story of the California Nursery Company and features historical buildings, majestic arboricultural resources, and displays of carefully preserved artifacts.

Boards & Commissions Workshop

Dear Friend,

Are you interested in getting more involved in our state government, but not sure where to start? Our office is hosting our Governor’s Appointment Workshop with State Appointments Secretary Cathryn Rivera from Governor Newsom’s office next Thursday. Information will be shared about how to apply to a state commission or board, what to expect during the application process, what it’s like to be appointed, and what your role might look like.

Dear Friend,

As a member of the Budget Committee, I’m proud to have secured $17,800,000 in state funding for local projects throughout Assembly District 25. This funding will go to support homelessness prevention and services, rebuilding a teen center, building an all-inclusive playground, and developing a landmark bicycle and pedestrian gateway.

Dear Friend,

I hope you had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend and were able to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Last week was the House of Origin deadline, meaning all bills that originated in the Assembly had to cross over by Friday. Below are our bills that passed out of the State Assembly and are headed over to the Senate!

Dear Friend,

It’s been a very “buzzy” spring in the Legislature. During the brief spring recess, we held our first hybrid (both online and in-person) event: our Senior Scam Stopper Seminar to teach residents how to protect themselves from common scams. If you missed the event, you can watch the recording, review the slides, or share with friends.

Dear Friend,

Our legislative session is in full gear and we’ve finished introducing our legislative package for this session. Our bills include legislation to tackle the housing crisis, assist small businesses, keep foreign interests out of politics, and much more. Learn more about a few of the bills below as well as some upcoming events!

Dear Friend,

From my family to yours, I wanted to wish you a Happy Lunar New Year/Tết if you celebrate! Wishing you love, hope, family, friendship and promises of brighter days in the year of the Tiger. This new year is roaring to a strong start.

Dear Friend,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday. After one full year in office now, I’m filled with gratitude as I look back on 2021 and my first full year in office. I am proud of how much we’ve accomplished together in the midst of a global pandemic, and I’m honored to serve you in the State Assembly.

2021 Highlights:

Dear Friend,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break celebrated with friends, family, or time off for yourself. On November 20th, we hosted a ceremony to recognize the Unsung Heroes of our district. Our unsung heroes often don’t get the spotlight for their incredible contributions, but it’s really these individuals and organizations that work on the frontlines every day that make it all possible.

We hosted the ceremony at Milpitas High School and recognized the 36 honorees nominated by local community leaders who witnessed the direct impact of their work.

Dear Friend,

In our first year, we passed 7 of our bills out of the Legislature, and held numerous events – both virtual and in-person. I’m excited to share with you some updates and upcoming events.

New Laws

Five of my authored bills were signed into law including bills reforming our justice system, making Milpitas and Berryessa BART stations safer, and protecting mobile home residents from unfair water charges. Learn more

What is summer recess? The State Legislature goes into summer recess in mid-July for a month. During this time, I’ve been spending more time back home learning about different organizations and the work they do, attending events, holding office hours, virtual town halls, and meetings with constituents! Learn more about a few of the organizations in our district below.
